About the Road Trip

The Ecology Center's "Green Machines Road Trip" aims to mobilize the public, and a wide variety of allies, to support new policy solutions that would help create jobs, fuel efficient vehicles, and homegrown fuels. We hope the Tour will get real people talking about the policies that affect their lives - their employment, fuel prices, oil dependency, climate change and economic development in their communities.

The Road Trip is part of the "Green Machines Tour", a project initiated in 2004. The Tour has organized blue-green alliances between UAW locals, environmental groups and other stakeholders in locations throughout the Midwest. For more information visit, Green Machines Tour.
